Hi. Note, the name of the Milight product is a bit misleading. The “Wireless WiFi Steuermodul LED-Controller Wlan” is just a RGB LED-strip controller supporting a proprietary 2,4 Ghz RF protocol. If you want to control it via Pimatic you’ll also need a “Milight Wifi bridge”, e.g. http://www.amazon.de/Wifi-WLAN-Controller-Milight-Mi-Light/dp/B00L3BNHZU/ref=pd_bxgy_60_img_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=18BKJQWKXMAB8GGV2Z7X or you build your own bridge https://github.com/henryk/openmili which is also supported by pimatic-led-light.
Milight compared to Wifi370 has the following pros/cons
pros:
- remote handset available for Milight (if you like)
- milight can be combined with RGBW and CW/WW LED Bulbs, Wifi-bridge can control up to 4 zones with multiple devices per zone
cons:
- limited color rendition when compared to Wifi370 as Milight has a limited color wheel
- two components required for Milight, at least - Wifi 370 is just one box
EDIT: Also, note, there is a Milight RGB-W LED-Strip controller for strips which have RGB plus White LEDs.
