Great to see progress on this project! Just installed the app on my Nexus 5 with 6.0.1 (yes, it does crash as well).

I’ve also just noticed that the shortcut menu doesn’t list any of the pages, added to the bug list.
Another question: Should I implement headers for groups? I do not have multiple groups per page in my installation, and I’m not sure if it would benefit the ease of use.
I could also only show headers if there’s multiple groups on a page. -
Hi @FrostedKiwi,
very nice app. I’m happy to see active android developer working on apps for pimatic.
- Do you plan to release the source code under a open source licence? pimatic and all its plugins are open source and it would be nice if your app would follow this philosophy.
- Did you consider to join the developing of the existing android app from @dgmltn? We now have 3 apps that are uncompleted and in some kind of alpha/beta state. It would be really nice if we could join forces and develop one complete and stable app.
-
the idea is to have a native Android app is great. However, I have to agree sweetpi. It would be great if everyone would work on a common solution.

@sweetpi I do not (yet) plan to release the source code, but we’ll see what the future brings. For now I like to keep the development of this app to myself.
I’d be willing to help on the existing app(s), but the projects are not really alive at the moment@n3ro The idea behind this app is different than the other two. While the other two are focused on managing your entire Pimatic installation, this app is solely based around control, to keep it as simple as possible, so my parents can use it for example.

@FrostedKiwi
I have a problem with the App. I have installed it on my Nexus 10 Tablett with Android 5.1.1
After starting the App it ask me for the Server data. I add them and at the Time I pushed the OK button the App cashed.
Now it crashed every time I start it.Sorry it was my issue. I have set the wrong Portnumber. After deinstall and reinstall now the App works.
-
@V1per It should not crash though, even if you enter the wrong port number. What exactly did you enter? A special character maybe?
The crash log didn’t give me a lot of information… -
No I type the Port 80 but Pimatic needs 8080. Maybe it is because on Port 80 is an other Service (named Volkszaehler)?
-
The app shows no content. All Server settings are correct. Maybe HTTPS does not work?

At the first start of the App I don’t see any content too. But now it works.
-
would be awesome if some screenshots would be added to the app infos inside the store!
-
@thymian that’s less of a priority at the moment, as I have limited time these weeks.
@ people with connection issues: I’ll try to build in a connection checker and some warnings etc. in the next alpha, so I can debug this a bit better.

Thanks for the great work already. I have been testing on the Z5 and Z2 tablet. My findings so far:
xperia z5:
Menu - settings button doesn’t work (menu on the right side)
keyboard doesn’t automatically open in settingsZ2 tablet:
crash after finished settings and return to home screen, buttons were visible. OK after restart app.
On a tablet, it’s pretty hard to toggle a device with the small switch. Maybe an idea to use the complete line item for toggling?both:
App crashes when screen rotates
The order of devices and groups is pretty important. Can it “sync” with the pimatic interface?
The button devices with multiple buttons will show on top of each other which uses a lot of space. Possible to align this horizontally?Idea for widget: Use the existing groups functionality of pimatic to select which devices/sensors you want to see in the widget.

App crashes by me too when I rotate the screen. On both devices (OnePlus One + Nexus 10)
