This protocol is really easy but it don´t support a real dimlevel.
I think we make a switch protocol to use it with a ButtonsDevice.

The first 16bit i would use for a ID. The second 8bit are an command.
Commands can be a number like the unit but we can also make this as a string.

The long press is not different from the normal press.

I will implement a new protocol type, the “command” protocol.
It is only useable with the ButtonsDevice because of the structure of the protocols.
The protocol do not transport a variable information like the state or a temperature.
They transport exact one command and the on/off command is a toggle command.

sounds all good

guess variable information on led devices do not make any sense at all. there could be more devices to come with similar tasks. let’s see how it works then.
is there an easy way to test things out yet or shall i better wait 'till your implementation is done?

try the protocol led2 - should be already mostly supported. My led is also discovered as led1/led2

@georg90 sadly it does not work with the led2 one. In the debug messages it recognizes switch5 and pir2

the device @frosenheimer has there is for rgb stripes.
there are some other buttons like color ±, demo
i’m having a similar device too with some more buttons to pick colors

do the additional buttons need to be “translated” first?
i will open another threat for the rgb led device later, would that make sense?. i guess it should be similar to these ones here except the color buttons. (am unfortunately short of time actually)

The protocol led2 provides personal codes.
Is the received data not decode to usefull string you can use as command some think like this

Can you upload the RFControl library from my development branch? Eventually is the protocol more complex as we think.
