How to connect sever with appliance and client

I have to built home automation system in which I have to make a server and deploy it and on the other end I have a client on the Smart Phone and a raspberry pi relay system at the other end How should I connect these form Pimatic I struck in it for more than a week and Still I have no way out PLease help me
