Hm, hope you will have much luck with that. I don’t go this way. There are many other ways for free. Next thing is that Pimatic will be update in the future that users stay, cause of NodeJS 8.0 core…
-
which ones would that be?
There is no such thing as free and I would be interested how these services are paid for.
@michbeck100 I was also thinking about creating a pimatic online service but had a hard time finding an architecture which fits my needs. What is the current architecture you are looking into?

@swen said in Amazon Echo / Alexa:

I doubt that. Please give examples.

I can controll my devices via Alexa and Z-Wave. There i can create dummy devices and this control devices via pimatic via REST over Z-Wave Gateway.
I use ESPurna with Alexa Support, so i can use Alexa to switch them on or off. There i don’t need a skill. And there are many other solution where i can control devices via Alexa native like hue, tuya, etc… And i don’t pay for it. Maybe if you buy the product. But not directly with an abo or other payments. That is not a full out of the box solution, yes, but it works. I can control 433MHz devices via Pimatic over Z-Wave dummy device… e.g.

@swen the Alexa smart home skill will have the maximum of features that are supported by both Amazon and pimatic. This includes for example also setting the temperature which is not natively supported.
Apart from that I want to have a solution that everyone can use OOTB. You just register with the pimatic cloud service and activate the skill. That’s it.
Not every user is comfortable with creating dummy devices and using them as proxy. And in the end it’s that comfort you pay for.BTW: pimatic-echo will still be available. But it will get deprecated. And you never know if Amazon someday also removes the native support for hue, WeMo, etc.

@michbeck100 I’m also using your plugin for alexa which is moreover working very well. Thanks for your effort!
Furthermore I’m also willing to pay for a native alexa skill for pimatic but isn’t it possible to pay you for your effort and not amazon? Or is there no way to program a skill without paying Amazon? -
@fabian littlebit off topic but you can make a donation over PayPal… Like i do it:-)… See the plugin page
-
Donation at this point is not the big effort if you must pay AWS monthly… The only way to go strait and get money to get support with another payed service you must get money for this skill… But at the end, how many users are really use this service and how many people pay your for that.
