I already give a warning message when you delete a device that is used in assistant => “please remove device also in Assistant!”.
What was the device you removed, a subdevice in assistant?
-
New plugin pimatic-assistant
-
Nope it was a switch. Then I missed the notification.
A info after every change of the device could be helpful, but normally the user should take care for such things.
-
On deletion of a device a message is ok. For de main device its already there and i will add it also for a subdevice removal.
On a change of e device is a bit unclear what the message should be. The device id and class will not change (you can’t change it) and that is what i use a link towards assistant.
The only case i can think of is the buttons device, with the removal of a used button and the buttons device is not deleted (still more buttons left, etc). Or do you see other cases?
-
On deletion it is okay. I made a test now. Seems that I really have overseen it as I deleted the switch.
A change is not relevant from my point of view. As you mention the relevant ID is still the same. My idea is a kind of consistence check of
pimatic_device_id
andpimatic_subdevice_id
after changing the assistantDevice (click OK). If all referenced ID are in the config.json you get an OK. If something went wrong then you get a message with the related infos. At the end this was my problem. The ID was missing after the deletion of the device, but the assistantDevice seem to be okay with this. When I get an info after each change about the “health” it would be helpful, especially if you have changed a lot of things and you haven’t an eye on everything.

If it was possible i could increase the font size of the message
This could help, but only when you have a look to the screen.

As you now implement cam support in the sounds plugin, I was wondering if you like to add camera support as well here if possible. I found this on GitHub for Nora:
-
If you want to use a voice command to switch a camera stream on/off to your Nest Hub, you could do the following
- create a dummy switch called ‘camera’
- add the ‘camera’ switch-device to pimatic-assistant
- create 2 rules
’ when camera is on then play site “streaming url” on <Nest Hub>’
’ when camera is off then play stop on <Nest Hub>’
This could do the tricks
- ‘Hey google, switch camera on’
- ‘Hey google, switch camera off’
and if you add a duration in the ‘on’ rule like
’ when camera is on then play site “streaming url” on <Nest Hub> for 30 seconds’
you don’t need the off command/rule -

Thanks for the tip. There’s some discussion but i see no camera implemented in Nora.
Okay could be. Because its closed I thought it founds it why to the nora code. Over this way the stream would be available via the GH app. This would be nice.

BTW i I know serveral other system like HA, ioBroker… No one has such a simple and powerful solution with Nora as backend >> Hopefully Nora will works longer as gBridge did!

Nest Hub use cases.
If you enable on a switch the ‘two-step confirmation with pin’, the Nest Hub with popup with a keyboard and asks for the pin before executing the action.
You could use this for enable/disable security features, etc. -
As mentioned in the other thread I integrated some LIDL smart home devices into my pimatic setup. After that I am not able to edit the config of my assistant decive any more. On save an error is shown: “deviceHueHandler is not defined”.
Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks!
-
I don’t see any detailled information about the error in the debug logs.
What is there is the following:Does this help you?
-
I’m not sure how to find the causing plugin. Sorry. What should I do to identify it?
-
Thanks! The error is gone now!

Is somebody else here, how gets a “Nora is currently offline” responses from GH after a voice command related to a pimatic hosted device? It happens pretty often. Sometimes just for a moment which cause no problems, but from time to time it is off for some minutes:
