Is it possible to send 2.4g RF signals?

Hello guys,

I just bought the following article:
2.4g lamp

Unfortunately, I don’t know how I can control it without the remote they delivered. So I bought me those NRF24L01+ 2.4GHz modules in hope of being able to sniff them like the homeduino plugin can do. I just realized that there is no 2.4ghz plugin, so can you guys help me building my own plugin or something? I don’t know how to start, googled for it but didn’t find anything to start with

I wanted to get some more buttons sending the same messages to turn the lamp off, somehow it always is powered (although I switch it off, lol, I don’t get it tbh).

With Rflink you can control milight devices without a bridge

if this is a milight device / lamp, maybe it can be controled with the milight plugin when having a milight network bridge / hub?

Is it possible to use that with nrf24? Because it has, as I know, no clk pin / gpio. And shouldn’t I connect it to the arduino instead?

I don’t think that milight will work, because, as I know, milight uses the wlan api, doesn’t it?
Else, this would be awesome, but I don’t have one to test it right now and don’t want to buy it without being sure.

You can mount the NRF module on it yourself.

I think it would be wise to check if the lamp you have is supported by this RFlink. I thought you had a Milight lamp, but after reading the link with the lamp again, I’m not so sure

That openmili of @koffienl kinda works, I tried the one from which it’s been forked, unfortunately, I don’t get it working, someone modified it a bit and I could listen to my remote.

I wanted to try the following plugin:

but I cant install it, is it a problem with my npm version or does it neither work for you guys, could someone please test it?

the problem with pimatic-led-light was that my node version was too up-to-date.

You guys know where I might ask for help? I can listen to my remote but I cannot read the data of it being sent… with henryks code, it seems to not receive any data at all, tried to change the channels (the RF24 scanner receives something on channel 5 to 8, while henryk used 5, 49, 71 or something). I thik that henryk’s code was for some light bulbs, not a lamp so maybe it’s not recognizing any commands being sent to a lamp somehow, lol.

I finally managed to install pimatic-led-light, though I can’t make it to run, gives me errors like undefined port where I put “/dev/ttyUSB1”, but since it uses henryk’s sketch anyway, this won’t work either. So, have you any idea where someone could help me?

Tried this today but it doesnt work for me. I also get the undefined port with the led-light plugin. Anyone who can help on this? All I want is to control milight with the nRF24L01 all info/solutions (also with antoher plugin) welcome.

i’ve rebuilt that milight bridge with an esp an a nrf, it works really nice with my bulbs when i connect directly to esp-bridge. but i cant get it run in pimatic, tried to install the milight plugins also as the led-light plugin. but none of them want to controll my selfmade brdige

did you also try the milight reloaded plugin from @mwittig ?

What is the protocol supported by the esp-bridge you’re using?

@leader21 yes i tried the milight plugin (and the reload of them) but theres no debug data, and no error, it just don’t work

Thanks for the link. Actually, it supports a REST protocol which is fairly easy to use. You should be able to at least integrate the basic feature like switching and dimming light using pimatic-shell-execute. I am happy to assist you with this if needed.

thanks a lot mate, thats exactly the way how i use it now, pimatic-shell-execute, with some buttons. of course it would be a lot nicer if i dont have 16million buttons on my gui for every color

can i declare any variable in the shell-execute command? maybe its possible to link the command to a slider or color picker…

Maybe you can do this by using a DummyDimmer to set a variable plus a rule which trigger the REST call when the variable changes. However, you’d need a shell script to read the variable value from pimatic and then making the REST accordingly. I agree this arkward.
