@n3ro You have to restart after config changes, since the settings don’t “belong” to the device itself.

Hi,
@n3ro: You could use the groups in the alexa app. Here you can create different groups with own invoking names (even if a group has just one device)

@passie not sure. Give it a try.
I can confirm that it’s not working with the Pi version. Alexa is able to respond to my questions, But when I ask to scan the network it bleeps and doesn’t do anything.
better luck next time -
@passie But thats not a problem of pimatic-echo. It think “real” devices like Philips hue light don’t work either.

I know, was just trying/playing. Not a problem at all with pimatic-echo. Thought i just mention it here before somebody else trying the same thing.

Nice plugin! works really well, like all of your plugins.
But as I am also using pimatic-hap it would be great if one could use both at the same time. Is this even possible? As I already have two pimatic-raspi’s running it should be possible to run pimatic-hap and pimatic-echo on two different raspberry pi’s, but then I have to create every device again on the second pimatic installation and create rules to call the API of my main pimatic installation, right?
Any better ideas for a solution/ workaround? Don’t you @michbeck100 have the same problem?
Great work, keep it up.

@thymian pimatic-hap and pimatic-echo have nothing in common with each other, apart from controlling devices using your voice. These are completely different plugins that don’t interfere in any way. So you can use both at the same time on the same pimatic instance, no problem.

thanks for your fast response. I thought so because you talked about habridge and echo using the same port for device discovery and in addition my HomeKit setup broke when I installed the echo plugin.
I will try to reset HomeKit and configure it again. -
@thymian the conflicting port with habridge was fixed with https://github.com/michbeck100/pimatic-echo/commit/793580a1a709fbfaf06915b1328490d8b19e60dd
Apart from that i don’t know of any problems between pimatic-hap and pimatic-echo. Device discovery is completely different between these two.pimatic-hap - pimatic HomeKit bridge

Just got a real echo dot, because Alexapi doesnt work. this plugin. Thanks for developing it.
-
Just received my echo and echo dot
Sadly I can test them earliest monday as I’m traveling all weekend -
Works great but I can’t use it at the moment as it will only find 15 devices and I’m using many dummy devices and without the exclude functionality and more supported devices I will not be able to use it.
However with this it’s really easy to use Alexa with pimatic! I’m just a power-user and need to wait for hue bridge emulation.
-
@thex you have only 15 supported devices or does the echo miss some devices?
